Farm & Rural Road Pothole Repair

Keep it in the shed, use it when you need it

In short

For farm and rural roads, Asphalt in a Bag lets you fix potholes yourself without waiting for an asphalt crew to travel out. Keep sealed bags or a 1 tonne bulk bag in the shed — it has a 12 month shelf life — and repair holes as soon as they appear.

By the Permanent Pothole Solutions team · Updated 26 October 2026

Long private roads and sealed farm driveways often sit a long way from the nearest asphalt plant. A cold mix that needs no heating or tack coat turns a contractor call-out into a quick job.

What to order

Built for working sites

There’s no plant, no heating and no tack coat, so one person can make a permanent repair and reopen the area straight away. Apply it anywhere from -26°C to 49°C, in the wet or the heat, and keep sealed stock on hand for up to 12 months.

Why Asphalt in a Bag

  • Permanent. Expands and contracts with the road surface, so the patch moves with the pavement instead of breaking away.
  • Cures on impact. Curing is activated by compaction — tamp it or roll it and it sets.
  • Bonds to anything. Adheres to asphalt, concrete, steel and even wood.
  • Any weather. Apply from -26°C to 49°C, in rain, or straight into a pothole full of water.
  • No tack coat. No pre-coating or priming. Open, pour, compact.
  • Traffic-ready. Application is up to five times faster, and it can take traffic immediately.
